As a Portfolio Manager, Louis’ responsibilities include portfolio strategic asset allocation decisions, customized benchmark construction, and working with other portfolio managers in portfolio construction and management for insurance, pension, and other liability driven investment (LDI) mandates. Louis also works on special quantitative, risk management and asset liability management (ALM) projects. Louis is an associate partner of the firm.
Prior to joining Wellington Management, Louis worked for 3 years from 1993 to 1996 at Lincoln Investment Management Inc. focusing on quantitative research, MBS portfolio management, and Global Bond portfolio management. He was an Assistant Research Professor at the Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing from 1985 to 1988.
Louis holds both a PhD and an MA degrees in Statistics from Wayne State University. He has an MS in Operations Research from the Institute of Applied Mathematics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a BS in Mathematics from the University of Science and Technology of China.
